Portfolio Managers

The portfolio managers for RMR Real Estate Income Fund operate as a team. Generally, Adam Portnoy provides strategic guidance, while Fernando Diaz is in charge of substantially all of the day to day operations, research and trading functions.

Fernando Diaz, CFA
Mr. Diaz is a member of the portfolio management team. Mr. Diaz has over 14 years experience as a securities analyst and portfolio manager. Prior to joining RMR Advisors, Mr. Diaz was a senior REIT analyst and assistant portfolio manager with GID Securities, LLC and a senior REIT analyst and assistant portfolio manager with State Street Global Advisors/The Tuckerman Group.


Mark Kleifges
Managing Trustee and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Kleifges is a Managing Trustee of RIF, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of RMR Advisors LLC, an SEC registered investment adviser and the adviser to RIF, as well as Chief Financial Officer of RIF.  In addition, Mr. Kleifges is Executive Vice President of The RMR Group LLC and has served as the Chief Financial Officer of other publicly traded real estate companies managed by The RMR Group LLC.  Prior to joining The RMR Group in 2002, Mr. Kleifges was a Partner at the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen LLP where he focused on clients in the real estate and hospitality industries.  Mr. Kleifges is a certified public accountant.


Adam Portnoy
Managing Trustee
Mr. Portnoy is the owner of RMR Advisors. Mr. Portnoy is also a Managing Trustee of Hospitality Properties Trust, Senior Housing Properties Trust, Government Properties Income Trust and Select Income REIT. Mr. Portnoy is also President & CEO of The RMR Group. Mr. Portnoy currently serves on the Board of Governors for the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). Prior to joining The RMR Group, Mr. Portnoy held positions as a banker and venture capitalist with several financial institutions, including Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and the International Finance Corporation, a member of The World Bank Group.
